PARIS — There’s something special about reconnecting with familiar faces in a place far from where your story together began.

This week, the RB team proved that true camaraderie knows no borders. Julian, Joanne, Lyna, and former RoomBoss team member (and continued technical advisor) Romain reunited in Paris for a memorable dinner alongside their partners.

The evening was filled with delicious French cuisine, plenty of laughter, a few adventurous menu choices, and even some RoomBoss talk along the way.

It was heartwarming to share good food and great conversations together again in a completely different corner of the world. Moments like these remind us that RoomBoss is more than just work; it’s the connections, friendships, and shared memories created along the way.

Mondays have a reputation. Luckily, ours had Korean food.

This week, the RoomBoss Sapporo team gathered for a Korean dinner after work, turning what could have been an ordinary Monday into an evening full of laughter, great food, and even better company.

Moments like these remind us that RoomBoss is more than just the projects we work on together. Taking time to connect outside the office helps us build stronger relationships and create the kind of team culture that makes coming to work enjoyable.

Say hello to our newest team member, Joanne!

A recent graduate from Hokkaido University, Joanne is originally from Malaysia and speaks Chinese, English, and Japanese. She’ll be supporting our marketing efforts while also providing assistance in system localization with her language skills.

Outside of work, Joanne enjoys diving, snorkeling, traveling, and spending time with her mischievous rabbit, Pepper (yes, she’s a proud bunny mom).

We are thrilled to introduce the newest member of the RoomBoss Customer Success team, Jade!

Originally from Paris, France, Jade brings experience in back-office operations, where she worked as a sales assistant and support team member in the travel sector.

Jade’s journey to Japan began at university, where she majored in Japanese. Drawn by the powder snow, dry climate, and cool summers, she chose Hokkaido as her new home. Outside of work, she practices Taiko, enjoys watching anime, and is happiest with a video game controller in hand.

Welcome Hirokatsu to RoomBoss!

We’re happy to welcome Hirokatsu to RoomBoss as a new member of our Java development team.

Originally from the Philippines, Hirokatsu has two years of experience in the tech industry, working on projects involving Japanese clients. His work has mainly focused on system migration projects and their documentation.

While working in Japan wasn’t originally in his plans, one visit to Sapporo changed everything. Hirokatsu fell in love with the city’s quiet atmosphere, convenience, and of course, the delicious food. Outside of work, he enjoys playing video games and basketball, and is also working hard to improve his Japanese.

Office Hours Over. Let the Games Begin at RoomBoss

At RoomBoss, a great team is not just about working well together. It is about genuinely enjoying each other’s company.

While our days are focused on building the best tools for the travel industry, our evenings often tell a different story. Team members from both the Sapporo and Niseko offices often gather for some friendly (but fierce!) games.

One of those arenas is card games, with the team swapping travel tech talk for spells and mana. Seeing everyone laughing and competing around the same table is exactly the kind of “magic” that makes our team culture special.

Bouldering is also a team favorite. Always plenty of chalk, even more cheering, and some post-climb muscle soreness, taking our teamwork to a literal new level.

And in winter, Hokkaido itself becomes our playground. With world-class snow right on our doorstep, skiing and snowboarding are a natural extension of team life, whether it’s a quick after-work run or a full day exploring the fresh powder.

Sharing these experiences gives you a little peek into the heart of our office. While we take pride in the software we build, we take equal pride in the relationships we grow. Finding a team you actually want to hang out with after hours is rare, and it’s something we never take for granted. That authentic bond is what makes our team culture supportive and our work-life balance feel genuine.

We’re excited to welcome Abid back to our Japan office!

Abid began his journey with the RoomBoss team in Japan and continued contributing full-time while based in India. Now that he has officially returned to Japan in person, we couldn’t be happier. No matter where he was, he remained a valued part of the RoomBoss family, staying closely connected with the team every step of the way.

When asked what he missed most about Japan, his answer was simple: sushi, onsen, friends, and motorcycle road trips across the country.

Now that he’s back in the office, he describes it as “wonderful.” With many new faces on the team, it’s been especially fun reconnecting and meeting new colleagues. Please join us in giving Abid a warm “Okaeri” (Welcome Home) when you see him!

We are thrilled to introduce the latest member to the RoomBoss team: Miyu!

Miyu joins our Client Success team with a background that is a perfect fit for the industry we serve. Having spent seven seasons at a premier Japan-based travel agency, she knows the ins and outs of the ski industry and the unique needs of travel operators. With years of resort-side experience under her belt, Miyu is well-equipped to support our users with insight into their daily operations.

Miyu is a true fan of the Hokkaido lifestyle. In the summer, you’ll find her out on the water on a SUP, and in the winter, she’s an enthusiastic snowboarder. When she’s relaxing at home, Miyu has recently caught the vinyl bug. If you have any record recommendations to help her build her new collection, she’s all ears!

Meet Patrick, Our New Software QA Engineer

We’re happy to welcome Patrick to RoomBoss as a software quality assurance engineer, where he helps ensure our platform delivers a smooth and reliable experience for our users.

Patrick began his career in quality assurance in the Philippines in 2012, specializing in performance and automation testing. He has since gained experience across multiple industries, including retail banking, rail freight, and airlines, working with a variety of clients.

Outside of work, Patrick is passionate about coffee and photography. He enjoys brewing coffee at home and spending weekends exploring cafés, parks, and museums with his cameras, always in search of the perfect shot and the perfect cup.
