Born in Hong Kong and raised in Canada, Brendon first visited Hokkaido and was instantly captivated by the region’s beauty. His passion for the area led him to build a life here, where he enjoys making the most of every season. In winter, you’ll find him skiing across Hokkaido’s top resorts, while in summer, he embarks on road trips with his two motorcycles, embracing the open roads. His love for vehicles doesn’t stop there—he’s also a big car enthusiast!

Brendon brings valuable experience from the property management industry, as well as his time at Wolt, where he focused on process automation, improvements, and account management. His strong background in efficiency optimisation and client relations makes him a great fit for our team as we continue to enhance the user experience at RoomBoss.

RoomBoss Hakuba staff joined the Snow Machine Festival this year! Hakuba village came alive with energy as music, snow, and an international crowd came together. DJs spun an amazing blend of electronic music and driving beats, getting everyone dancing—and sometimes wiping out—in the snow.

Between sets, we enjoyed ramen and karaage in front of a bonfire. The combination of great music, the electric atmosphere, and delicious food made the festival unforgettable. The crowd was a fantastic mix of people from all over the world, adding to the already vibrant vibe!

We’re excited to introduce Rami from Jordan as the newest member of our backend development team!

Rami joins us with four years of experience in backend development, specialising in API design, system integration, and building scalable microservices. He previously worked in the fintech industry, where he developed digital banking and anti-money laundering (AML) solutions used across the Middle East and West Africa—experience that brings a valuable perspective to our team as we continue enhancing the RoomBoss platform.

Rami is really excited about shifting to the tourism industry as a way to expand both his knowledge and experience, and we’re thrilled to support him on this new chapter.

Outside of work, Rami enjoys playing and watching soccer, exploring new recipes in the kitchen, and playing video games. He’s also a big cat lover!

Some RoomBoss team members visited the Sapporo Lilac Festival 2025 at Odori Park, a local event celebrating the blooming of Sapporo’s official tree. The park features over 400 lilac trees, food stalls, live music, and cultural exhibitions.

Team member Julian recently took on the Chiba Spartan Sprint, a 5K race with 20 obstacles, held on May 25, 2025, at Tokyo German Village in Chiba Prefecture. This event, part of the Japan National Series, is renowned for its challenging course set amidst scenic rolling hills.

We’re pleased to welcome back Mami, who rejoins RoomBoss with extensive experience across the travel and tourism industry.

Over the years, Mami has built a strong foundation in tour operations, sales, and on-the-ground guiding. Her career has taken her to leading ski destinations across Europe, North America, and New Zealand, where she worked as a ski guide. In addition, she managed a dive business in Cancun, Mexico, gaining valuable international business experience.

Having recently returned to Japan, Mami is eager to contribute to the continued growth of the country’s tourism, resort, and ski sectors, both in winter and green season, by applying her global insight and supporting the digital transformation of the industry.

Originally from Shizuoka, Mami enjoys skiing, diving, and gardening. She’s passionate about sustainability and brings a naturally positive, team-oriented approach to her work.

We’re excited to have Mami back on the team and look forward to the knowledge, professionalism, and enthusiasm she brings to RoomBoss.

Earlier this month, RoomBoss team members from across Japan, including Niseko, Sapporo, Furano, Hakuba, Izu, and Shimane, gathered in Sapporo for a team dinner. Although we collaborate daily from different locations, sharing a meal around the same table offered a rare and meaningful opportunity to connect face-to-face.

The evening also marked a significant milestone: the 10-year work anniversaries of Dan and Cesar, two of RoomBoss’s earliest contributors. Their leadership and long-standing commitment helped lay the foundation of the company and continue to guide its growth today.

At RoomBoss, we take pride in being a distributed, multicultural team built on shared purpose and mutual trust. Our ability to work seamlessly across distance isn’t just part of our culture. It’s one of our greatest strengths.

Originally from Wisconsin, USA, Calvin brings a strong background in software development together with international experience from his time on the JET Program in Iwate. After starting his career as a Java developer, he broadened his skills through cross-cultural work and communication abroad, giving him a unique perspective that will be a valuable addition to the team.

Outside of work, Calvin is an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys camping, hiking, and snowboarding. He’s also a fan of tabletop gaming and spends time painting Warhammer miniatures.

We’re excited to have him on board and look forward to what we’ll build together.
