Another snow lover has joined the ROOMBOSS team! Say hello to Ha-Ly, our new business operations analyst from New Zealand!

With a background in computer science and six years of experience in business intelligence consulting, Ha-Ly also has hands-on experience working in the ski industry.

His snowboarding journey began in Canada, but rumours of Japan’s legendary powder eventually brought him to Niseko, where his experience in tech and the ski industry led him to RB.

When he’s not working, you’ll find Ha-Ly enjoying the outdoors, playing volleyball or learning Japanese.

Welcome to the team, Ha-Ly. We’re excited to have you on board!

Last Friday night, team members from Niseko, Furano and Shimane made their way to Sapporo for a long-overdue get-together with the Sapporo crew.

What started as a lovely evening of good food, great company and plenty of laughter soon turned into a 二次会 (second party) karaoke session. And let’s just say… RB might have a few hidden superstars! 🌟

Special shoutout to Ikechi for bringing Sebastian the crab to life with “Under the Sea”, Brendon for absolutely rocking “Don’t Stop Me Now”, and Calvin for pouring his heart and soul into his much-anticipated “My Way”! 😂

Halloween is creeping into Hirafu! ROOMBOSS is joining the Hirafu Halloween Trick or Treat 2026 on Friday, 30 October, from 3:00pm to 6:00pm.

Little ghosts, witches, monsters and superheroes will be making their way around Hirafu in search of treats, and we’ll be ready with something sweet at RB too. 🍬

On 4 October, ROOMBOSS team members Shun, Noah, Patrick, Calvin and Tomoki headed to Ebetsu for the 2026 Fun Run!

With great weather and a scenic course, the day was made even better by having teammates there to cheer each other on throughout the run and at the finish line. Between the enthusiastic runners, organizers and an appearance from the local Nopporo mascot, there was plenty of energy to keep everyone going.

But perhaps the real reward waiting at the finish line? A warm bowl of tonjiru (rich pork soup).

A great day of running, cheering and spending time together outside the office. Who knew cardio could be this much fun?

Autumn has finally arrived in Hokkaido. The days are getting shorter, the evenings darker, and the air noticeably cooler. Soon, the mountains will turn beautiful shades of yellow, orange and red, one of the most stunning times of year in Hokkaido.

At ROOMBOSS, autumn also means winter preparations are starting to pick up as we and the businesses that use our systems get ready for another busy season ahead.

ROOMBOSS recently took part in Tourism EXPO Japan (TEJ) 2026, one of Japan’s largest tourism events, at Tokyo Big Sight, where our team hosted a booth.

This year’s event brought together 1,420 companies and organizations from across Japan and around the world and welcomed more than 180,000 visitors.

With a focus on outbound, inbound and domestic tourism, as well as regional revitalization, TEJ provides an opportunity for the industry to connect, exchange ideas and explore new possibilities for tourism.

We were happy to be part of such a huge event for Japan’s tourism industry!

Not every ROOMBOSS trip is about work — this one was about love.

On 5 September, Julian, Ricardo and Joanne travelled to Manila for a very special occasion: the wedding of our colleagues Franz and Angelica.

It was a wonderful opportunity to witness and celebrate their love, while also experiencing a Filipino wedding filled with amazing food, thoughtful details and plenty of fun. Guests were invited to draw their own faces on a large canvas, while professional artists created personalized watercolour paintings of guests throughout the celebration.

And of course, no gathering would be complete without a little unexpected entertainment. Julian was called up on stage for a boys-versus-girls singing competition, where his rock ’n’ roll rendition of Dancing Queen quickly got the whole room cheering (not too many tomatoes were thrown).

More than anything, we were incredibly happy to be there to celebrate such an important moment with Franz and Angelica. Thank you for letting us be part of such a special day, and congratulations once again from all of us at RB! 💛

ROOMBOSS team members, Kanae and Brendon, recently hosted a booth at the Hotel Restaurant Show & FOODEX JAPAN 2026 in Osaka, a leading B2B trade show for the hospitality, foodservice, and food industries in Western Japan.

Organized by the Japan Management Association, the event brought together 450 exhibitors and 15,000 attendees, providing a valuable platform for suppliers and decision-makers to connect and explore business opportunities.

Kanae and Brendon introduced ROOMBOSS to businesses across the industry, noting strong interest in our feature set during their meetings with various company representatives.

A productive trip to Osaka, with plenty of new connections and lots of Osaka’s famous yakisoba and okonomiyaki!
